This wine is a tribute to my great-great-grandfather, S.T. Dodson, an 18-yr old who traveled across America in 1848 as a preacher on a covered wagon. He made stagecoaches by hand in Sacramento and established our family here in California 5 generations ago.
An unusual blend of 67% Petite Sirah and 33% Syrah, our 2014 Stagecoach presents a dark amethyst color with a nose of boysenberry and African violet. On the palate look for dark berry, caramel and aged balsamic finished with soft tannins.
